Searching for movers in Ottawa usually means one of two things: your closing date is set, or your lease is ending — and either way, the clock is ticking. Discount Moving & Storage is an Ottawa-based crew at 2285 St. Laurent Blvd, and moving homes across this city is what we do every week: apartments downtown, family homes in the suburbs, and everything in between.
Because we work only in and from Ottawa, our crews know the city's moving-day realities first-hand — the month-end elevator crunch in Centretown towers, narrow Glebe streets where a truck has to be positioned just right, and winter driveways in Barrhaven that need shovelling before the first box comes out. That local knowledge is built into every plan we make.
Full-service movers, based right here in Ottawa
As full-service movers in Ottawa, we handle the whole job: careful loading, safe transport, and placement in your new home, plus furniture disassembly and reassembly. If you'd rather not live among boxes for a week, our packing team can pack a room or the whole house, and our storage holds everything safely if your dates don't line up.
Every booking starts with a firm, written quote. Tell us what you're moving and where, and we'll confirm the crew size, the truck, what's included, and the price structure — before moving day, not on it. No vague phone estimates, no surprise line items when the truck is half loaded.
Searching "movers near me" in Ottawa?
If you typed "movers near me" into your phone, you're probably standing in a half-packed room wondering who can actually help this week. We're the nearby answer for most of the city: our St. Laurent base puts us within easy reach of downtown, the east end, and the south end, and we schedule crews across Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven, Orléans, and Gatineau every week.
Proximity matters for more than the drive. A nearby crew means a walkthrough can happen in person, your quote reflects your actual streets and stairs, and if something changes — a closing that shifts by a day — you're dealing with a local office at (613) 601-6683, not a call centre in another province.
